Sugaring Vs. Waxing
Is it the same?
Initially yes, they both intend to remove hair from the root leaving you with smooth hairless skin for weeks. Way better than shaving every day! But here’s the difference. Sugar is natural, nothing synthetic about it. Wax can contain chemicals, fragrances, or artificial color that can cause allergic reactions, discomfort and irritation. Sugar never sticks to live skin cells, only dead skin cells eliminating skin lifting. While wax is heated to high temperatures, sugar is kept at around body temperature so it prevents any burning of the skin. Glided on to the skin, sugar seeps down into the pores and is removed with a flick to gently pull the hair out in the direction it grows, minimizing the chances for ingrown hairs. This prevents broken hairs that can occur when wax is removed in the opposite direction of hair growth. Sugaring tends to last longer than waxing due to the whole hair being pulled from the follicle. Sugar is applied with one ball of paste and the hands are used to glide and remove it. The need for sticks or paper strips is eliminated. Not only is sugar better for you, but better for the environment as waste is greatly reduced! These main differences are what make sugaring so much better!
